I made my second sideways shell newbie afghan in May for a friends baby girl.
This is a great pattern. It works up very nice. It's easy to follow and fun to crochet.

ohhhh I'm cool...
[originally posted at flickr on March 29]
So we woke up to a blizzard.
Literally.
White, snow falling, it's about 6 inches deep.
I decided to ignore the weather. I thought of summer. I thought of hiking. I though of flora and fauna. I thought of warm sun. I thought of four kids and four water bottles and me having two hands and my blissful thoughts of hikes was suddenly filled with ''mooooooooomma can you plllllllllease hooooooold thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis water botttttttttttttttttle'' and I decided to be proactive. I pulled out some dishcloth cotton and made a water bottle holder. AE's is done. Only three more to go.

current WIP
my daddy's birthday is coming up. I'm working on a ripple throw for him.
***added note-I'm in a pause on this one currently. I ended up ordering my daddy another gift and will send him this a bit later. I am using the random stripe generator and ran out of yarn. heh! I had to order more and am waiting for it to arrive.

She is all about pink right now--everything must be pink...she will be thrilled!

Current WIP
It originally started out as a baby blanket. I am using Red Heart though, and it's just not soft enough TO ME for a baby blanket. I've about decided to just give it to baby girl (my daughter) for her room. We'll see as I near completion how I feel about it.
I am using the online random stripe generator and I'm excited to see how it works up.

Crochet dragon finger puppet...
meet Drellix, the fire breathing dragon. I'm making AE a set of finger puppets for quiet play (at church etc) I finished this one last night. There is a set with the dragon, a knight, a damsel and a horse. I have a request in to make "lots of knights so we can fight them'' Heh, who knew finger puppets would appeal so greatly to all my kiddos.
Sideways shells baby blanket-- all done and ready to go
This was a very easy pattern and it worked up beautifully. I'll use it again for sure.

Just checking in...
I haven't posted here in a bit. I am steadily crocheting.
I've found a fabulous project to which I am going to contribute. It is an organization that makes throws for our wounded soliders coming home to Walter Reed Hospital in D.C. It's very easy-you just simply crochet or knit 6x9 rectangles and send them in--they then have a group that pieces them and delievers them. If you'd like more information check out rectangle 6x9
I am working on a couple of projects right now--pictures to come!
